How does the Wireless Internet work?
We will supply you with an external modem, which will plug into an Ethernet port on the PC.  This will connect with a cable to a 24 inch outdoor antenna (similar to a small satellite dish) which will point toward one of our towers.  Your PC will connect to one of our routers via a PPPoE connection.

Do you provide an email address?
We do get asked this question a lot.  Yes we will provide you one or more email addresses.  Our email addresses also provide virus and SPAM filtering.  We recommend you use anti-virus on your computer as well.  We also provide web based access to your email account. If you wish to access your email via the web mail just go to our home page.

How fast is it?
Typical http access speeds will be approximately 8 times faster then dial-up and your phone line will never be used.  Typical http downloads will run at about 384K.  Speeds can vary based on a number of issues.  These speeds are comparable to cable modem or DSL service.

Is this an always on connection?
As long as your computer is on, you will always be connected to the Internet if you set it up that way.  For example, you may leave your computer on all day long and almost instantly receive email messages.  Again, connection is made via PPPoE and it does not use your phone line.

How does this compare to satellite services?
Unlike satellite based internet services, there are less latency issues (the time it takes every click or keystroke you make to reach the Internet and get back to you) when using wireless Internet.  Also, unlike satellite based systems there are no rain fade issues.  Compare the 22 thousand miles the signal from a satellite must travel to the several miles wireless must go to reach our tower.

Will a high speed connection make me more vulnerable to computer viruses?
Due to the high volume of computer viruses lately we have added a virus scanner to our email server.  Though not bullet proof it has dramatically reduced our tech support due to computer viruses.  We also have SPAM filtering.

Do I need to have a PC technician interface my PC to the wireless modem?
You are responsible for a network connection on your PC, but our technicians will setup the wireless on your PC.

How many hours per month am I limited too?
There is no time limit for Internet access.

How much does it cost?
  - $275.00 fee in advance for setup
  - $35.95/month for 384K
  - $49.95/month for 768K

Is there equipment that must be leased or purchased?
We provide the wireless modem and other hardware and retain ownership of it.  Certain limitations do apply, but they are all similar to those that accompany Cable and DSL service.

Will I be able to get service in my area?
A free site survey will be required to ensure services at your location.  If interested in signing up give us a call or email.
